I am not a career politician, and I do not pretend to have all the solutions to the challenges we face. But I believe I can make a difference in HOW decisions are made.
My experiences as a registered nurse prepared me:

I know how real people are affected when elected officials lose sight of real world challenges. I believe common sense should prevail over partisan rhetoric, and that no one’s ideas should be excluded from the policy-making process.

For the past 8 years I have been a volunteer coach for a high school mock trial team. The experience has given me a chance to interact with some amazing young people who never fail to surprise me with their skills and abilities. While I am privileged to share a little about being an effective advocate in the courtroom with these students, I also learn from them about their challenges, hopes, and fears.
